Doris Peterson

Doris Peterson is a teaching artist from Belleville, NJ.  She currently teaches K – 12th grade art at Abundant Life Academy in Nutley, NJ.  Daily she imparts solid instruction, mixed inspiration topped with just enough risk-taking to propel her students into a life long appreciation for the Arts.  She received her BFA in Art and Design, specializing in jewelry and metalsmithing from New Jersey City University in 2007 and received her MAT in art education from the School of Visual Arts in NYC in 2013.


Although Doris’ expertise is in metalworking and glass, at the present time she finds it gratifying to create mixed media constructs.  Her work has been exhibited in galleries in New Jersey and New York including: Erasecism, The Bridge to Community, at the Montclair Art Museum, Montclair, NJ.
